Spider Cranes at Vacuum & Crane

Compact cranes available for lifting materials and equipment…

Spider Crane Hire: An Introduction

We have a great range of compact cranes available for lifting materials and equipment. When you have minimal room to use a traditional crane, mini cranes are the answer. These cranes are slim enough to fit through a standard door, deliver up to 4.0 tons of lifting power and retain excellent maneuverability.

With its unique pentagonal boom and super slim profile this mini crane range is the most flexible range of cranes on the market. Motor options include diesel and electric versions. Used in conjunction with vacuum lifting equipment, they offer safe and speedy methods of installation.

Our mini cranes are extremely compact yet can provide the capacity and reach of much larger machines, lifting loads up to 6 tonnes. They are the perfect solution in areas with restricted access or limited working space.

The mini crane range includes 4 cranes ranging from the ultra compact MC285 to the advanced MC405, each providing an excellent balance of design, workability & maneuverability. Whether you need a simple self-operated hire, or an entirely planned contract lift service – we are here to help. Our fleet of mini cranes is continually expanding to deliver solutions to lifting difficulties to our customers.

Benefits of using Spider Cranes:

  • Ability to perform in smaller areas – Because of the small size, mini spider cranes are perfect for small working areas where larger cranes can’t be used.
  • Easy relocation – Because mini cranes are easy to install and dismantle, they can be easily moved from one location to another. The crane can be transported by a small vehicle and does not require human power.
  • Cheaper alternative – Because mini cranes are so versatile, they are a more cost-effective alternative to larger, more expensive cranes.
  • Multiple power options – This means that you can operate them with gas, diesel or electricity. This is a great benefit and makes them applicable in different situations. If you do not want to buy gas or diesel and have all that messy work done, changing oil, cleaning them etc., you can simply plug them in an electric outlet and operate them.

Spider Cranes

With their compact size and considerable lifting capacity, spider cranes are the perfect choice when space is limited. They can be manoeuvred into position easily and provide reliable lifting power when and where it’s needed.

Spider cranes, sometimes known as mini cranes, have been designed to carry out the jobs that larger cranes cannot manage due to the bulk. Tasks that need carrying out where space or access is limited can be challenging for larger cranes, making the spider crane an ideal solution

They are constructed with outriggers which can be pulled out and then fixed to the ground to provide added stability and support. It’s these outriggers that give the crane its name, as they resemble the legs of a spider. They also make them an ideal choice on uneven ground or rough terrain as well as in confined spaces. If you’re carrying out work on a difficult-to-access site where the ground proves challenging then spider crane hire can be a sensible option.

Although small, mini cranes are still powerful mechanical machines that are capable of moving materials and objects of all shapes and sizes, they can be transported with a truck and are extremely easy to install and dismantle when taking it from one location to the next.

What are the advantages of spider cranes?

Spider cranes are designed to do the same job as larger cranes in places where larger cranes cannot easily operate. Spider cranes come in a range of sizes with the most compact being able to fit through doorways and in elevators. If you’re considering spider crane rental it’s likely that you’ll be able to find a crane that meets your requirements, no matter how challenging the work site. Despite their size and flexibility, spider cranes are capable of lifting a considerable tonnage.

Spider cranes also have a safety advantage. As a general rule, the closer you can get the crane to the item that’s being lifted, the safer that lift will be. The manoeuvrability of a spider crane means it can access different types of sites to enable close crane set-up and a safer lift. Spider crane rental can save you significant time and labour across your project meaning that your rental costs are likely to be recouped.

When can you use spider cranes?

The versatility of spider cranes means that they are used for a wide range of tasks and in very different sites. They’re frequently put to use in urban and built-up environments where space is more limited.

Spider crane hire on a construction site might be used for moving building materials, reducing the need for time-consuming human labour. They can also be used to access a difficult part of the worksite or as a substitute for scaffolding.

Some of the other industry sectors that frequently use mini cranes include docks, foundries, warehouses, railway depots, power stations and facilities management. They are used by small and larger businesses alike.

Spider crane rental is a cost-effective means for many businesses to reduce the time and manpower required for a project.
